Chapter sixteen
Heat
Isaacâs words resonated inside my mind while I paced in Liamâs room, hating that it was too late, dreading this heat that spread through my body, making my skin itch in need, a feeling that was too familiarâone I loved and hated.
I tossed off my jacket and opened the window, hoping the chill breeze that passed me would help, but I already knew it wouldnât.
Sweat trickled down my back, and I staggered to the bathroom, ready to take a cold shower to soothe my aching body.
I hoped I could have rejected Liam before this or that I had gotten my drugs. I still didnât understand how William knew what to give me.
Isaac or Agatha didnât need to explain what wolfbane would do. Did this mean the attacks I was having were suppressed by it? And so was this heat that I was sure I had before.
When the cold water cascaded down my body, I wondered if William knew more, but I didnât have a way to contact him. And why keep it from me? Was he a wolf? With everything I know now, it did make sense, the way his wife hated my presence when I went through my fazes of sexual overdrive.
Were they mates?
I flinched when the bathroom door was thrown open, and Liam rushed inside. The heat coursing through me peaked, and my wetness dripped down my thighs, my body betraying me, my soul craving his while my mind wanted another.
This was a battle I have never won, and it wonât happen today.
However, there was a light, a way out. Rejection. I could reject him after I was marked. That tiny sliver of hope was all I needed to go through with this.
I needed to go with the flow of this mate bond crap until I had my freedom and go back home.
Home, where was that? Were these feelings I had developed for Isaac enough to let me stay? Could this be my new home?
I shook away the thoughts when Liam lifted me up, the tingles rushed over my bare skin, and I pressed my lips firmly together, holding back the moan that wanted to leave me.
His touch and gaze showed this gentleness, but I knew better by now. There was nothing gentle about this man. He might have fooled his pack members, but not me.
He held me close and crawled on the bed with me beneath him. With a soft brush of his fingers, he tucked my hair behind my ear while holding my gaze.
I didnât want this, neither did I the first time, and it seemed my eyes betrayed me.
He leaned back; his eyes wandered over my wet naked body, and he ripped his shirt from his body. âDid you say no? Did you tell me to stop?â he asked.
âWhat?â My soul screamed for his, and the heat made my skin crawl.
âYou liked it. Admit it.â He moved fast, grabbing my chin, and I whimpered. âYou like to be my little slut.â
A blush reddened my cheeks, and I hesitantly shook my head.
